Slow Fashion is a project developed by Punë n’Dorë to be implemented from 2023 onward, aiming at introducing principles of slow fashion in an industrial scale, which includes model of circular economy and responsible consumption as its core. The company will implement this model of production both with its suppliers of raw materials, as well as build a clientele for such products, with the latter being built since beginning of 2022.
The company already has experience and has implemented the principles of slow fashion, since its inception in 2019. The Covid-19 pandemic and the ensuing financial crisis slowed down the progression of this project. As the markets are picking up in the clothing industry in 2022, the company wishes to reinvigorate this project.
Cumulatively, the Slow Fashion project will aim at introducing a number of new slow fashion products from the company, produce them in industrial scale for local, regional and international clients. Discussions and test orders have been already completed with a large-scale US customer, and products in slow fashion have been produced in a smaller scale locally and EU wide. The company wishes to streamline all these development on a much grander scale in 2023, creating the basis of a first large scale factory in slow fashion in Kosovo, where existing textiles and plastic would be reused in final products. In the process, 6 to 10 employees, within the marginalized middle aged and rural women, would be employed, and another 30 women would benefit as suppliers and collaborators.
