Tomaž Zaman is a Slovenian entrepreneur and software developer who co-founded Codeable in 2013, growing it into the world's leading marketplace for vetted WordPress developers — 35,000+ clients — before exiting in 2022. He then traded software for hardware. From the village of Kobilje in northeastern Slovenia, he set out to build the router he always wanted: open-source, enterprise-grade, and beautifully designed — documenting every step on YouTube, where a video went viral and grew his channel past 70,000 subscribers. That audience became a business: Mono has shipped 1,000 routers, taken 2,000 more in pre-orders, and raised ~$900k — with no paid advertising, and coverage from Forbes and YouTuber Jeff Geerling. Today he is founder and CEO of Mono, building the Gateway — a 10-gigabit, AI-native router and the open-source OS behind it, designed to be run by AI agents with humans in command. He builds in public, manufactures in the EU, and believes small nations "must grow in their heads."
