What are the Triglav Group's expectations and plans for 2024?
In terms of financial results, we anticipate that our business will normalise in line with our strategy. This year's performance has been affected by unique negative environmental influences – most notably the price cap on supplemental health insurance and the historic magnitude of CAT claims, in addition to the inflationary pressures on costs and claims experienced since last year. Next year, we will return to profitability targets defined in our strategy, with a profit before tax between EUR 100 million and EUR 120 million and an increase in total business volume to approximately EUR 1.6 billion. We also aim to maintain our high A ratings, which confirm the Group's financial strength and stability. We will continue our efforts to consolidate our market position as the leading insurance and financial group in Slovenia and the Adria region. Beyond the region, we will continue to take advantage of opportunities both directly, following the principle of free movement of services, and through partnerships. In addition, we will continue to pursue the existing dividend policy and strive to make Triglav's share a profitable, safe and stable investment for investors and shareholders.
What areas will you focus on next year?
In line with the Triglav Group's strategy, we will further enhance our efforts in pursuing growth and development and even greater focus on our clients. Our main objective is therefore ensuring client satisfaction by delivering an exceptional and consistent user experience throughout digital and analogue platforms, as well as across channels, processes, products and services. This is the foundation on which we base our competitive advantage. At the same time, as an insurance and financial group, we are well aware of the importance of our team of over 5,300 employees. In a group of more than 50 companies, we foster an organisational culture that supports our strategic business guidelines and strive to create a working environment that encourages employees to develop skills and competences that enable them to effectively achieve their goals. We will also continue with our digital transformation through the development of digital services, the automation of processes and the implementation of modern technologies, upgrading and customising our offer and strengthening the Triglav brand.
As an insurance and financial group that has been in operation for over 120 years, how do you adapt to modern trends and changing consumer habits?
I believe our strength lies in our ability to adapt to both the needs of our clients and to changes in the environment. Initially, we provided our clients with individual insurance services and savings in mutual funds. Over time, we upgraded these offerings with assistance services. We understand that clients have diverse needs, ranging from financial security, to home, mobility, health, and even pet-related concerns. At Triglav, we aim to address them comprehensively, which is why we have already integrated our services in the redesigned Triglav komplet loyalty programme. We are now building on these activities to develop service-oriented business models. This means that we are using modern IT and digital solutions to create a single platform with interrelated ecosystems, where we and our partner network of providers will address the multiple but interlinked client needs with respect to insurance, assistance and related services.
What is the most significant challenge in business digitalisation and how is the Triglav Group addressing it?
Our goal is to become the leading digitalised financial and insurance group in the Adria region and we are therefore systematically implementing the digital transformation of the Group. We are integrating self-service into our business and introducing digital sales, with a special focus on digitalising the claims segment. For example, in some markets, clients can access an online application for step-by-step reporting of car and non-life claims via digital channels. Furthermore, we are digitalising and automating the claims handling and settlement as well as the client notification processes. We are implementing modern technological solutions into our business, including artificial intelligence. The goal is to alleviate the most time-consuming and repetitive tasks and facilitate the transfer of data to new information systems.
Your mission is closely linked to sustainable development and environmental, social and governance factors. What aspects of sustainability does the Triglav Group prioritise?
We have set sustainability ambitions in four areas: in both core businesses (insurance and asset management), own business processes, stakeholder relations and corporate governance. These are now being implemented. Let me list some of these activities. As one of the region's major investors, we have achieved our target of having 10% of our bond portfolio in sustainable bonds. In our insurance segment, we are developing sustainable insurance and investment products, such as insurance for solar power plants, photovoltaics and wind farms. In our own operations, we are working to reduce our carbon footprint through a number of activities, including increasing energy self-sufficiency by building solar power plants on some of our buildings. We also promote corporate social responsibility and environmental projects. We are committed to the highest level of corporate governance, and we also demonstrate our attitude and commitment to sustainability by joining certain international initiatives, particularly those of the United Nations. Last but not least, it is important for us to remain a development-oriented environment for our employees and to be connected to our partners and the environment in which we operate.
